With its dramatic landscapes, stunning beaches and abundance of fresh food Vietnam already sounds tempting. And with 45% of the population aged under 30 there is an energy and vibrancy about the place. Add in a thriving and growing economy, and low living costs and it becomes even more attractive as a place to develop a career. Indeed Vietnam is one of the world’s fastest growing emerging economies and worth considering if you are looking for an international career challenge with a difference.
There is still scope for expats to make Partnership although those opportunities may close off in future years as local skills develop so it’s a good time to get in. If you are a qualified accountant or MBA with 8-10+ years’ experience in transactions including specific experience of working on post merger integrations then this opportunity in a global firm could be waiting for you. Your experience will have been gained in the transactions team of a Big 4 or in a CFO or similar finance role industry; a combination of both would be ideal. In any event you will need proven client relationship and business development skills. The entry level will be as a Senior Manager or Director but this is a real opportunity to build a business line and fast-track your way through to Partnership. Previous experience of working in an emerging market or in South East Asia is useful but not essential. Full spoken and written fluency in English is essential.
Salary is negotiable but is likely to range from $US100-150,000 depending on your experience. This truly is a great opportunity to build a business in a fascinating country and immerse yourself in all that South East Asia has to offer.
